2nd MANILA BULLETIN’S ON THE SPOT COMIC STRIP CONTEST at the Komikon 2012!
Rules and Regulations
I. The Manila Bulletin “2nd MB ON-THE-SPOT COMIC STRIP” is an on-the-spot short comic strip drawing/composition contest intended to highlight the creativity and skill of the Filipino artist.
II. Registration for the “MB ON-THE-SPOT COMIC STRIP” will be at a designated Manila Bulletin booth at the KOMIKON event area. The contest is only open to the first fifty (50) registrants.
a. Contestants will be asked to create a three (3) panel comic strip on an 9 inches x 24 inches (size) sheet of paper with the corresponding title.
b. The paper sheets will be provided by the Manila Bulletin. Only one sheet will be given per participant and they must bring their own writing and drawing implements.
c. Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
1. Idea: 40%
2. Creativity, Impact and Relevance of theme: 20%
3. Artistic Skill: 20%
4. Originality: 20%
d. The top three winners will be chosen and announced during the event where special prizes and Manila Bulletin premium items will be given to the winners. Judges’ decision is final.
III. The contest is open to all visitors of the KOMIKON 2012 at the Bayanihan Center, Pasig City on October 27, 2012. The contest proper will start at 10:00 a.m. All entries must be submitted by 3:00pm and winners will be announced on the same day at 5:30 pm.
IV. The use of excessive or overtly violent, sexual, offensive themes, graphics and language will not be allowed.
V. All entries will be the property of the Manila Bulletin and there is in no obligation to return them.
VI. Manila Bulletin shall have the right to use or publish the entries in the post event features/articles.
